I’m mixing a few tracks from my last recording session and I’m running into a problem. On the mic that was micing an electric guitar cabinet, I didn’t account for the louder, more abrupt notes in songs. Thus, there’s some crackle during these segments on the microphone, likely due to the loudness overloading it. I’m really struggling to remove the crackle. I’ve attempted to isolate it with the adaptive noise reduction to little success.
Does anyone have any suggestions how I could go about this? Midi can’t be all that difficult to impliement this day and age. After all if you use the most advanced MS Office you can still open old file types. The problem I am having is a large wedding video production with approx 40 files. The first two are from the ceremony.
First file I have been able to find enough noise in a quite space in the file with no vocals so I have been able to tweak settings which offer a by far better file.
The second file is shot from a distance in the church and noise is really extreme. The Minister is talking all the way through the file and any open spot in the file is so small it’s not giving a very good noise print to use through the file for noise reduction. I have tried noise reduction umpteen number of times but the results are the same.
Minister sounds like he’s under water to use some one else’s description. Also tried equalizer to boost center channels but still very poor. I know some will say shoot the audio correctly the first time with an appropriate Mic. They are right. I used my Panasonic X Cam and before next event will use a Rode. As I have read that will only help a bit. Not sure what else to offer for the issue but all help will be appreciated. Been watching many tutorials to see if I can find some help but all the tutorials using Audition have a nice clean open area to use as a sample.

For instance, I drop music bed in track 1, then record voiceover. When I put Track 2 into edit mode, it also recorded music from Track 1. It’s not the mic picking up headphones because I can lay the headphones across the room and it still does it. I have the same problem I used XP and had toreinstall Xp.
