Windows 10 keyboard and mouse not working after boot free download
She doesn’t know why it happened but last time she used it, it was to watch a movie. She left the pc and when it was on the login in screen the mouse and keyboard were not working. The mouse LED sensor light is on – still doesnt do anything, lights on but doesnt respond – but the keyboards lights caps, num, scroll lock light indicators don’t light up or respond to any input either.
Keyboard doesn’t work to go into bios and usally the num lock key is lit up at this time but isnt. This may be a hardware issue. Since different keyboard and mouse do not work as well, we couldn’t try to reinstall the drivers.
You may contact the manufacturer for further assistance. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback.
Well I had an IT guy have a look at it but he doesn’t know whats wrong with my pc, he says the usb ports aren’t broken and it seems that all the ports get disabled as soon as the pc turns on but that cant be cause the mouse lights up.
Manufacturer asking for a lot of money to have a look at the thing as its not on warranty and I’d rather ask for help first. Sorry for if I confused you but the keyboard doesnt work at all, including the pre-boot time. I just noticed that the lights on the keyboard light up briefly when you turn it on. My motherboard doesnt come with a ps2 slot and apparently adding a PS2 adapter wont help me either as it wont get loaded its drivers loads later or something I had trouble understanding the explanation.
Thanks for the help but it looks like ill have to take the PC in to get looked at by professionals. The motherboard needs to be replaced. Theres a chip on the board that gets really really hot and they said even if they tried to find out why it would not be worth fixing so I’m going to buy a new motherboard. In reply to John Ado’s post on March 19, Manufacturer asking for a lot of money to have a look at the thing as its not on warranty and I’d rather ask for help first Would buying a PS2 adapter the thing the oooold keyboards plugged into before USB help?
In reply to GeorgeSferos’s post on March 20, We can’t tell that for sure. If both of your keyboards your Mom’s and yours still need PS2 adapter, it may be worth a try. Be very careful not to change the settings to USB Disabled! If USB is enabled, which it probably will be, then move on to the next method.
In reply to diepanh’s post on March 21, I left the battery out durning the night, no power cable in it either but it did not help.
