Published by Loop Community on April 23, April 23, The Apple Loops Library is a great addition to Logic that allows producers to easily drag and drop pre-made loops and One Shots into their sessions. These sounds are provided by Apple and are free with the software. To open the Apple Loops Library, click on the loop symbol in the top right of Logic. Here you will see a list of all the Apple Loops. If some are grayed out, that means they are not available to you at the moment.

Now that you have your sounds installed and ready to go, adding them to your session is simple! Drag and drop the sounds to your desired track. A lot of these loops are great as additional sounds to layer your already made tracks.

Some of the One Shots in the Loop Library are also good as transitioning sounds. One example of this is a boom hit. Use a boom hit to transition from a quieter section of a song such as a verse or pre-chorus, into a loud section such as a chorus. One Shots from the loops library may not always be in the key you want. You can change this by adding it to the sampler plugin in Logic. A new track will be created with the sound programmed inside an EXS Sampler plugin.

If you do not have a MIDI controller, you can open the piano roll and enter it that way as well. And yes, just the Apple Loops folder, nothing else. Need help. Hi Robert! I did actually have symbolic links before. Although when I downloaded the full library it worked. Is it possible to upload pictures here so I can show you? For the little guide you did here in the comments, in the path to the original folder, do I include the folder itself at the end, or do I stop at the folder before?

For example:. Hey Ville, you should include the folder you are creating the symbolic link for. That is the path the symbolic link will point to and also the name it will use for the symbolic link file itself. If one would be so tight on space that gb is essential to remove, a hard drive upgrade is definitely the right way to approach the problem.

Look at the progress bar below the icons to the left of your LCD display, they show you your download progress. My new Logic Pro Book is out! So when the download is complete will the Open Sound Library Manager option be available? At this time it’s grayed out. LogicPro Oh I see! Ok then good to hear you’re sorted. I don’t recommend doing that, as deleting the temp will not update the receipts that would tell Logic that your library is installed.

No menu popped up, no progress bar, nothing. Not sure if Logic is downloading anything. Anyone know what is happening if anything or why that option was available and is now grayed back if I already have all of the sounds?

I assume if there are no missing sounds to download it would be grayed out so I’m not sure what’s going on. JCcares Posted December 11, Thank you. Some options were greyed out in the Sound Library manager during download. That was the main issue I guess. It’s all set now. Posted July 7, I know this thread is old, but I just updated to Logic That sounds like the complete library to me. I see sounds as already available in my library anyway so Anyway, is there a way to find out where the temp download location is so I can delete it and free up 62GB of space?
