Will microsoft office 2008 work with el capitan free
I am buying a new iMac running El Capitan and would like to know if my Office will work. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

My experience has found there is usually a difference between buying a new computer with a specific OS and what software works and installing a new OS on an older one. Seems a lot of software, not just office can’t handle the change but work ok when installed on the same rev fresh.

Mac with the operating system of El Captain I spent about four hours on the phone being transferred from different helpdesk’s in Apple and then to Microsoft and then back to Apple. Basically, Microsoft no longer supports office Consequently, they don’t care that it doesn’t install.
Microsoft wants you to buy a subscription to their new office service. Apple also doesn’t care, it’s not their software. So here we are, stuck with software we paid for that we can no longer use. Which is unfortunate, because office is more than most people will ever need regardless of all the bells and whistles in Microsoft’s newest version.
